As Sustainability Communication Manager, you will take a journalistic/ special correspondent approach to crafting impactful narratives that bring our sustainability initiatives to life. Your mission will be to translate complex sustainability efforts taking place across the globe (Bangladesh, Turkey, Tanzania, Brussels, etc.) into compelling stories that differentiate our brand and resonate with diverse audiences. 
 
This role reports directly to the Head of Global Brand and offers a unique opportunity to amplify our sustainable impact through innovative and authentic storytelling. You will work transversally with internal and external stakeholders, including the sustainability, communication and product teams, as well as the senior management at Stanley/Stella.
Main responsibilities
Sustainability communication planning 
  • Identify compelling, newsworthy angles to showcase Stanley/Stella’s sustainability achievements and strengthen its leadership position in the field, by engaging with internal and external stakeholders and traveling to witness our local operations and actions first-hand.
  • Define and implement a sustainability communication plan that aligns with the company’s brand positioning and goals, and is targeted to our key audiences (e.g., Corporate, brands, agencies, resellers).
Market watch & sustainability competitive intelligence 
  • Stay up to date about industry trends, best practices, and critical sustainability issues, integrating key insights into sustainability communication development.
  • Create visibility within Stanley/Stella (and towards our internal sustainability) on important sustainability efforts and developments from competitors (as per their own communications).
Storytelling 
  • Act as a brand journalist crafting compelling content highlighting our sustainability initiatives (ethical sourcing, social actions, carbon reduction).
  • Create editorial-style content, including interviews, opinion pieces, investigative stories, articles, case studies, press releases, blog posts that showcase our sustainability efforts in a clear and engaging way.
Audiovisual content creation & coordination 
  • Serve as a special correspondent, traveling to local operations (Bangladesh, Turkey, Tanzania, Brussels, etc.) to document and film our sustainability initiatives, capturing authentic moments in capsules.
  • Coordinate external (local) providers where required, providing scripts and concepts for videos, podcasts, and social media storytelling, to develop more complex communication materials.
Sustainability report 
  • Lead the creation of our annual sustainability report – working with relevant stakeholders across the company (including our sustainability team) to provide an holistic, compelling picture of our actions. 
  • Ensure our sustainability reports gain appropriate visibility internally and externally by engaging with relevant stakeholders and promoting its content in an engaging way.
Public relations 
  • Support public relations in identifying key publications and events to establish the brand’s authority in terms of sustainability.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Work 
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders –  product development, operations, sustainability, decoration, design, and management to gather accurate, up-to-date information on sustainability efforts.
  • Partner with internal communication team to integrate sustainability messaging across all channels.
Your profile
Required skills
  • Strong journalistic instincts with exceptional storytelling and writing skills.
  • Ability to translate complex sustainability topics into compelling, audience-friendly narratives.
  • Editorial mindset with an eye for newsworthy stories and creative angles.
  • Proficiency in content creation across formats (articles, videos, interviews, blogs).
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to work across diverse teams.
  • Proven understanding of sustainability principles, frameworks and practices.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in journalism or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in journalism, content creation, or communication.
  • Readiness to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Professional proficiency in photography, videography and post-production of audiovisual content.
  • Experience in developing editorial strategies for sustainable communication in B2B and B2B2C.
  • Multilingual proficiency and well-established media network in sustainability, business, or fashion sectors are strong advantages.
